About CAPAN

CAPAN became a federally incorporated national not for profit organization in 2008.

Our bylaws and business plan were created with the support of leading experts from municipal, first nation, provincial and federal government agencies, private communications companies, and academia. This effort followed a detailed analysis of Canadian public alerting challenges and opportunities, which can be found in our strategic plan.

Our Board of Directors includes many members of the planning team. Our goal is to be governed by a Board that includes representatives from federal, provincial, municipal and first nation governments, private communications companies, utilities, and academia.
